User Management - Leverage CRM user mgmt process to automatically set up IV users

Customer Feedback from (see Mary for name of customer):  Enhance our USER ADMIN view so that the customer can leverage their current CRM user set-up processes for adding new users to InsideView.  (that is, eliminate the lag time created by having to set up IV users separately and wait for "auto-provisioning" to occur and then switch to correct license type.)  For example, click on a "checkbox" in CRM that would know to automatically set up an IV user as well as the CRM user at that point in time.

 

Quotes from Customer:

" We have been using auto-provisioning for our test environment, but this isn't really the path we want to take to add and manage users in the production system.  Ideally we would prefer that there isn’t a lag in user setup as with current "auto-provisioning"; we would like to have the ADMIN UI enhanced so that we can do self serve of user set ups at the start. 

 

Long term we would actually like the administration to be something that is totally managed through the CRM setup such that the web service call that you are using today in the Account/Contact/Lead onload events would return the profile (Team/Free) information to InsideView.

 

We have another CRM add-on that can be managed in the way I have described.  We add/disable users to CRM on a daily basis.  While the attrition of our Team users will be less fluid than our full CRM users base, it is still be something that we would like to have as few setup steps as possible.  And of course we hope that once this is launched there is interest in increasing our license count beyond 100 but in turn that will strengthen our desire for a streamlined administration process.

@Mary, sounds interesting.  Can you ask the customer to share the other application they use (mentioned above) that automates the provisioning as part of the CRM license admin process?

The application that allows them to do this is Miller-Heiman.  Any thoughts??

 - what they have to do if someone turns up on termination list or is downgraded to a FREE user, their current workflows do not work within InsideView b/c they have to manully remove the TEAM license or Deactivate it.

 

For example, one challenge to them rolling out our FREE version to all employees (10K+) - is if one of those employees is terminated, they would not want that FREE user on their account id to leverage connections, etc.  They would want that user "de-activated".  Need some way to automate the new / terminate user process into their workflows for all systems.  This is an issue for IV b/c we have the web browser in addition to accessing via CRM.
